Petra Schneider

Design Specialist

Petra is a Community Development & Communications Specialist with over 25 years experience managing national and international community education and development programs, primarily in Indonesia. She also designs, and produces high-impact educational programs and materials from her home in Bali, Indonesia. Over the years she has delivered dozens of projects for the United Nations, International Development Agencies such as USAID, AUSaid, GIZ and many others.

As a Canadian-born Indonesian citizen living and working in Asia for more than 30 years, Petra is especially passionate about bridge dialogue and building understanding between people at all levels of project implementation, in a range of cultural settings. She has extensive experience in communicating and building program plans, developing comprehensive educational tools, and conducting participatory monitoring and evaluation that provides program stakeholders with understanding of program needs, values and outcomes.

Petra currently runs her consulting firm PT Alam Santi Sustainable Design, that delivers re-generative systems consulting as well as creative design services for educational media production, while providing communications and curriculum materials support for the Contentment Foundation. She is deeply passionate about indigenous wisdom and education related to wellbeing for the plant and its people.
