Early Primary Division Leader
Marla has been an Early Primary educator for 20 years and is currently a Kindergarten teacher, Division Leader and co-coordinator of the implementation of the 4 Pillars of Wellbeing Curriculum at Corbett Preparatory School of IDS in Tampa, Florida. She also serves as a Rollout Representative and Trainer for our National Pilot School, Corbett Prep, and schools worldwide. Marla is one of the original authors of the Four Pillars of Wellbeing Curriculum, and co-author of the Pre-K version of the pillars as well.
Marla’s personal practice reaffirms that indestructible wellbeing brings lasting benefits that begin with turning our attention inward. She is dedicated to sharing these practices with other educators, highlighting that when you are at your personal best, you can give your best to others. Marla is an advocate for the implementation of emotional intelligence and wellbeing in classrooms, as they provide students with a sustainable gift that yields long term benefits. She is passionate about investigating self-awareness with her students, and through the Four Pillars, she has seen firsthand how students become less emotionally reactive, better equipped to handle stressors and triggers, and more accepting of others.
