Emilio Diez Barroso is the author of The Mystery of You, and sits on the board of over a dozen companies. He is the CEO of NALA Investments and is an active philanthropist, investor and entrepreneur. He has a master’s in spiritual psychology and resides in Los Angeles. Emilio was a lifelong seeker—seeking recognition, achievement, love, success, and finally, the ultimate carrot: enlightenment. In his pursuit of enlightenment, he was forced to face what all the seeking had been trying to avoid: his own sense of unworthiness. Defeated at the game of avoiding and humbled by the realization of his true nature, he is now dedicated to alleviating suffering in the world. Emilio is married and is a father to three incredible teachers.

Emilio studied Economics and Finance at Harvard, I.T.A.M. and Boston University and has an M.A. in Psychology from the University of Santa Monica with an emphasis on Consciousness Health and Healing. He is the Founder and CEO of NALA Investments, LLC, a private investment holding company with operations across various industries including communications, transportation, media, and technology. Emilio is a member of the XPRIZE Innovation Board, sits on the board of The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and of the Crossroads school for Arts and Sciences. He is an avid introspector and is dedicated to supporting people in recognizing their inherent completeness and being a beneficial presence in the world.

Emilio’s deepest intention in life is to alleviate human suffering. He currently chairs the board of The World is Just a Book Away and serves on the boards of UC San Diego Health Group. In 2016, he cofounded the Contentment Foundation, where he sits on the board and provides emotional, intellectual, and financial support to this day. Emilio is the father of three beautiful children, whom he has dedicated his life to serving through conscious expansion, love, and compassion.
